Will The Next Ford Mustang Be All-Electric?
The current-generation Ford Mustang enjoys considerable success all over the world. The status of the best-selling sports coupe of the planet can quite logically mean that the car gets different versions of powertrains, Motor1 reports.
Traditionally the Mustang is equipped with V6 and V8. To the lineup of the current generation model a petrol four-cylinder EcoBoost of 2.3 liters was added. For today, the most powerful road variant of the Ford Mustang is the GT350 with a 5.2-liter 533-hp engine.
The company has already confirmed that they are working on a hybrid version of the Mustang in order “to further unlock Mustang’s potential”.
Recently, the Detroit Bureau site has hinted that an all-electric modification of the legendary sports car is in development. The same source also reports on the possible appearance of the all-wheel drive variant of the Ford Mustang – together with the next-generation model, which will be launched in the early 2020s.
Corey Holter, Ford marketing manager,
Mustang will continue to evolve and strike the right balance between heritage and being contemporary and fitting into today’s society.
What seems incredible can become possible after the BMW M and the Mercedes-AMG with a four-wheel drive have started coming.
