What will be the next-generation Peugeot 2008?

In 2016, in its fourth year of production, the Peugeot 2008 was updated, but more radical changes are expected in two years: then the second generation of the subcompact crossover is expected to enter the market.

It will get some elements of the style of ‘big brothers’ 3008 and 5008. The room for the head and legs will be increased, as well as the boot space. The  2020 Peugeot 2008 will take the i-Cockpit system from the 3008 with a 12.3-inch high-resolution screen.

It is expected that the new 2008 will be built on  a completely new platform, developed by Peugeot together with Chinese partners from Dongfeng.

The subcompact car will be both stiffer and lighter. An all-electric modification with zero emissions is under development and should join the lineup of petrol and diesel versions.

The new Peugeot 2008 is likely to remain two-wheel drive, but it is believed that engineers are working on an improved Grip Control advanced stability system that will help the car cope better with slippery surfaces.
