Until The End Of This Year Subaru Will Introduce A New Plug-In Hybrid

As it has become known, before the end of this year Subaru presents a new model – it will be a plug-in hybrid named Evoltis, according to the Carscoops.

At the end of last month the automaker filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for approval of a new name. It is not yet known to which segment the new car will belong, journalists suggested that it could be a compact crossover like the Subaru Crosstrek.

The model will be equipped with a Plug-In Hybrid drivetrain. It may be borrowed from the Toyota Prius Prime. In the latter the total output is 121 hp,  only on electric traction the car travels 40 km.

The Subaru Evoltis will become another all-wheel driven vehicle of the brand. It will receive the E-Four system from Toyota with an additional electric motor. This type of drive is already available on the Toyota Prius, though only in the home market so far.

There in no information yet when the new Subaru model goes on sale. Most likely, it will first enter the US market, and then – in other countries.
