Toyota Will No Longer Produce The Avensis Model
Toyota has ceased production of the Toyota Avensis family car because of the low demand for it. It was produced at a single plant in Bernaston (Great Britain).
We don’t know if there will be a successor for the model that lost its popularity, the decision has not been taken yet. Other models of the brand, which are well sold, for example, the Camry and Corolla sedans or the Auris wagon may take the niche of the Avensis in the European market.
The Toyota Avensis has changed generations three times. It was launched in production in 1997. The latest generation was introduced in 2008. The year of 2004 was the most successful for the model: buyers purchased 143,000 cars.
Last year, 25,000 Avensises were sold in the UK, which is little in comparison with sales of the Skoda Superb or the Volkswagen Passat (more than 80,000). Therefore, the automaker’s decision is entirely logical.
