The Toyota Avalon Enters The North American Market: Prices Are Known
Toyota brings to the market of the USA and Canada the 2019 Toyota Avalon flagship sedan after the latest iteration. The new fifth-generation model will be available in petrol and hybrid versions at a starting price of $35,500.
The new car has debuted in early 2018. It is built on the same TNGA platform as the Camry, Prius and the C-HR. The car became squat, but longer and wider, plus the wheelbase grew. Its exterior is made in the style of the Camry.
The petrol powered version is based on a six-cylinder 3.5-liter 2GR-FKS engine with 301 hp and 362 Nm of torque.
The hybrid drivetrain (Toyota Hybrid System II) with the total output of 215 hp includes an electric motor, CVT, a battery pack and a 2.5-liter Dynamic Force petrol motor.
In the cabin of the the Japanese brand’s flagship it is worth noting an infotainment system with a screen of 9 inches, a JBL 7.1 audio system of 1200W, the surround sounding of which is provided by 14 speakers, a climate control, 10 airbags, a projection display, wireless charging for smartphones.
Four trim levels – XLE, XSE, Limited and Touring – are offered for the version with the petrol motor, and the first three of them – for the hybrid. The hybrid variant will cost $36,500 – $42,800, and the petrol powered modification – from $35,500 to $42,200.
