The New Tesla Model Will Be A Rival To The Volkswagen Golf
Tesla head Elon Musk at the company’s shareholders meeting said that in less than five years a car would be developed to compete with the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Focus and the Vauxhall Astra, the Auto Express reports.
Answering the question about the size of the new car, Musk told that the new Tesla model would be of a compact class, although he did not mention more details.
The head of Tesla used the shareholders’ meeting for some announcements.
In particular, speaking of the Tesla Model 3 (pictured above), Musk noted that he experienced “the most agonizing, hellish few months that he ever had.” We are talking about problems with the launch of this model in mass production. “Great progress” was achieved, and “the quality and reliability of the car have improved significantly since the start of production,” the head of the company added.
Musk confirmed that the all-wheel drive version of the Model 3 would be presented in July, and the “model with lower power reserve and lower cost” should appear “at the end of this year.”
The Tesla Model Y SUV is to be presented in March 2019, and will be available for sale in 2020. A new-generation Tesla Roadster is being prepared to produce, which accelerates to 100 km/h in 2 seconds.
