The New Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan Will Hit The Market This Year

At the Beijing Motor Show Mercedes-Benz has presented a Mercedes-Benz A-Class version for the Chinese market – a sedan with an elongated wheelbase.

The A-Class sedan should appear in other markets of the world, the launch of the standard global version is announced to be later this year. The Chinese 2019 Mercedes-Benz A-Class L Sedan (pictured) has a 60 mm longer wheelbase. This is the only known difference so far.

The A-Class L has dimensions of 4,609 x 1,796 x 1,460 mm, 2,789 mm of wheelbase and a 420-liter trunk. The short rear overhang is noted, the front part of the sedan does not differ from the hatchback’s, the taillights are also of the same shape, however, different configurations inside.

Like the previously presented next-generation hatchback the sedan is built on the same upgraded MFA platform. In the cabin we see the same new MBUX infotainment system, which for the top trim levels has two screens of 10.25 inches. One of them performs the function of an instrument panel.

In the MBUX system Mercedes applied its know-how – the first of car manufacturers offered navigation with Augmented Reality technology. So, Chinese consumers will be the first to appreciate such a highlight in the car.
