The company Mitsubishi has declassifed a Nissan’s Qashqai competitor
Before the public debut at the Motor Show in Geneva the company Mitsubishi has released the official photographs of its latest crossover – Eclipse Cross. The main competitor of the Nissan Qashqai, as believed, is presented only in appearance, but some technical details are already known.
In particular, initially the Mitsubishi’s Eclipse Cross powertrain will expectedly include two motors – a 1.5 liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2 liter diesel one.
Even when the new car’s road tests took place, it was called “a shortened Outlander”. Now it is clear that the Eclipse Cross looks much more sporty.
Standardly the SUV will get a front-wheel drive and a manual transmission. An all-wheel drive and CVT will be optional.
In addition to the Nissan Qashqai, one of the main competitors of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is considered to be the Spanish SEAT Ateca.
Unfortunately, the automaker has not yet shown a cabin’s interior, but promises “a horizontal interior design language in silver metallic and black color scheme.” We understand very soon what it means – the Geneva Motor Show begins on March,7 this year.
The new Mitsubishi crossover should go on sale at the beginning of 2018.
