SsangYong is developing a mid-size crossover: teasers are published
A mid-size crossover will join the model range of SsangYong. Its conceptual version will be first presented at the Geneva Motor Show, which starts this year on March, 7. The first official teasers of SsangYong XAVL Concept are available.
AVL is an abbreviation. eXciting Authentic Vehicle Long in translation sounds like “breathtaking authentic elongated car” – well, something like that. The concept of the new vehicle, however, is reflected quite clearly – the new crossover SsangYong originally was developed as a 7-seater.
It is not still clear whether the XAVL will be the next concept on the automaker’s way to creation of a serial mid-size crossover or it is the concept of real mass production perspective. Probably, in Geneva the Koreans will shed light on this matter.
It is noted that while developing the SsangYong XAVL Concept designers “drew inspiration” from a model Korando of the second generation produced in 1996-2006, as well as a concept XAV-Adventure, presented in 2015 at the Motor Show in Frankfurt. The both models are viewed on the top teaser in the background.
The company reported that the new crossover will be equipped with the latest safety systems. It turns out that the concept still heralds a new model in the range of the brand.
