The sports Kia Rio has been equipped with a 1.0-liter turbo engine

Kia Rio GT-Line
On the eve of the March Motor Show in Geneva the company Kia has shared details about a special version of the Rio model. One of the interesting features of the GT-Line sports modification is a 3-cylinder T-GDi engine.

Kia continues to add special versions to all models of its line-up, which can be conditionally called sports. The Sportage and Sorento SUVs, as well as the Picando city car already have the GT-Line modіfіcations. Now it came to the Rio.

Specialists consider a very attractive element in the Kia Rio GT-Line – a 1.0-liter turbocharged T-GDi engine. This sensitive unit provides good dynamic characteristics. In addition, it is compact and weighs a little.

At the peak of power the engine delivers 118 hp at 6000 rpm. The maximum torque of 171 Nm is available in the range from 1500 to 4000 rpm.

The Rio GT-Line on average spends 4.7 liters per 100 km. The emission of carbon dioxide is 107 g/km. The transmission is a 6-speed manual.

From the 3rd quarter of 2018 the Kia Rio GT-Line will be also produced with an asperated engine of 1.25 and 1.4 liters, and an alternative to manual will be a 7-speed dual-disk automatic gearbox.

Again, the Rio GT-Line is not a hot modification in the full sense of the term. However, today there is a 100-percent hot model on the market with a 3-cylinder engine. It’s about the Ford Fiesta ST, with a 1.0-liter EcoBoost up to 200 hp.
