The newest Mercedes crossover will be “square”, like the G-Сlass
In 2018 a completely new CLB model will join the off-road Mercedes lineup. The novelty is being run in at full speed before serial production.
Despite the protective camouflage, we can definitely say that the new Mercedes SUV will be made in a square style, like the famous G-Class.
Looking at the spy photos of pre-production prototypes, the angular design immediately catches your eye. Let’s not forget about the Ener-G-Force concept, which the company showed at the Auto Show in Los Angeles more than five years ago.
As for the technical part of the Mercedes-Benz GLB, it is designed on the MFA2 platform of the second generation, which means that it will be front-wheel-driven in standard.
The motor range includes 1.3-liter petrol and 1.6-liter diesel engines of Renault, as well as “native” 2.0-liter units, as expected. By 2020, a hybrid modification is possible.
In the Mercedes model lineup, the GLB crossover will take an intermediate position between the compact GLA and the midsize GLC.
