A New Peugeot 508 Has Got A Design In Fastback Style
The main feature of the new-generation Peugeot 508 is a new design, made in the style of ‘Fastback’. It is expected this decision will allow the car to compete better in the European midsize segment, Automotive News Europe informs.
Peugeot is confident that the new 508th will “destroy the mold” in this niche of the car market, which is dominated by more conservative classic sedans. The new Peugeot 508, according to the company, will reduce the migration of customers into the SUV segment.
The new car has got an elegant interior with high-end features.
A leather steering wheel, a 10-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel are just some of the features.
The list of safety systems includes a night vision complex with an infrared camera. It allows you to detect pedestrians in the dark and in conditions of reduced visibility.
The power line-up included just six petrol and diesel engines with a capacity from 130 hp to 225 hp. It is expected that a plug-in hybrid will be introduced next year.
The main rivals of the new 508 are considered not only their traditional competitors – the Volkswagen Passat, Opel Insignia and the Ford Mondeo, but also premium representatives of the Great German Trio – the Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and the BMW 3-Series.
The new 508 will be available for order this summer. Its debut will be held very soon – at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6.
