Military Men Named 5 Civil Off Road SUVs Valued In The Armed Forces of Ukraine

In the Armed Forces of Ukraine civilian vehicles are very widely used, including off road SUVs. It’s not a secret. The AutoUniversum made its own small research and found out which offroaders are most valued in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

For obvious reasons, we can not call the category of respondents, but, firstly, they are military personnel, and, secondly, the number of answers received is quite enough for statistics and representativeness of the survey.

5. Hyundai Galloper

The model was produced from 1991 to 2003, and there are plenty of announcements about its sale on the secondary market. The Galloper is developed on the basis of the Mitsubishi Pajero of the first generation and even sold under the Japanese brand in some countries. The engines are petrol and diesel ones. The most powerful of them is a petrol 3.0-liter 160-hp V6.

4. Opel Frontera

The off road SUV was produced from 1991 to 2004. In fact, this is a re-shaped Isuzu Wizard. There is a version of the Frontera A and later Frontera B. The SUV was also produced in a three-door body – the Frontera Sport. Many engines were offered  – both petrol and diesel, from 100 to 205 hp.

3. Jeep Cherokee

The charismatic off road SUV has been already produced for 45 years. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine a popular version is the Cherokee XJ, which was released from 1984 to 2001. It was manufactured in the USA, China and Venezuela.

2. Isuzu Trooper

It’s the Opel Monterey as well. Produced from 1981 to 2002. Two generations. The second generation with a 3.1-liter turbo diesel of 125 hp is especially appreciated in the army. In the power lineup there are other motors, but this engine is characterized by high fuel efficiency.

1. Nissan Patrol

The Patrol is one of the five most popular off road SUVs on the planet. The model has been produced since 1951. In the Armed Forces of Ukraine the most demanded are the third and fourth generations, which were produced in the periods of 1980-1989 and 1987-1997 respectively.

In addition to the powerful six-cylinder engines, truly outstanding all-terrain characteristics are a great advantage of the model.
