What is the Kia Optima after restyling? – major innovations
At the Geneva Motor Show, Kia will present a restyling version of its Optima flagship. The main highlights will be two new motors, which supplement the power lineup of the model. The automaker refreshed the exterior design, offered a new multimedia system.
The Kia Optima, which, we remind, is produced in sedan and wagon bodies, after the upgrade will be available with new engines. They are the latest development of the company – a 1.6-liter U3 CRDi diesel, as well as a petrol turbo T-GDi with the same working volume.
External changes include a new front bumper, new head optics and fog lights, as well as renewed rear lights, which are made on LED-elements.
The Kia’s ‘Tiger’s nose’ of the radiator grill has been chrome-plated. Plus a new body color – Runway Red is added and a new set of wheels of 16-, 17- and 18-inch aluminium alloys.
In the interior it is necessary to highlight an updated design of the steering wheel, chrome accents and new versions of leather upholstery, including a combined one.
In the updated Optima there is a backlight of the instrument panel and doors with six color options. However, new versions of the infotainment system seem more significant. A 7- or 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, branded Kia Connected Services, developed by TomTom, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrators – these are just the basic options.
The refreshed Kia Optima will go on sale in the first half of 2018.
