Kia Has Explained The Drop In Sales Of Its Cars
Kia Motors Corporation has released data on global brand sales for the first 2 months of 2018. Car sales in the domestic market of South Korea grew by 2.6%, but in general, Kia’s sales decreased by 2%. The automaker explained the negative dynamics.
In the first two months of 2018, Kia’s worldwide sales totaled 402,310 units. A year earlier for the same period, the owners of models of the brand were 410 478 people. The difference, at first glance, is small, but it is. Moreover, on the scale of one of the largest automakers in the world, minus 2% is an alarm signal.
The reduction of production volumes is called in the company to be a reason for the decrease in demand due to fewer working days in February – Korea celebrated the Lunar New Year.
As a result, representatives of the brand explain, deliveries to popular markets of popular models, for example, the new Rio or Stonic crossovers, were postponed to a later date.
True, the Lunar New Year was celebrated a year ago. Then in February the Koreans also had fewer working days. We can assume that factories simply did not reach the design capacity for the production of new models. In part, this is confirmed by the growing sales in South Korea itself.
Obviously, in Kia they not see a particular problem in the sagging sales. Moreover, the normalization of supplies is expected in the near future.
