The first official photos of the second-generation BMW X4 have been published
BMW has introduced official photos of the X4 SUV of a new generation. The debut of the novelty will be held at the Geneva Motor Show in early March. The car will enter the market this year. Production starts in the coming months at a plant in Spartanburg (South Carolina, USA).
The X4 has a sloping roof, large sports wheels and profiled sides. Like the ‘relative’ X3 the ‘fourth’ BMW got narrow LED-headlights and an increased radiator grille.
Thanks to aluminum in its structure the car became 50 kg lighter than its predecessor, while adding in size. The wheelbase is 2 864 mm, the trunk is enlarged to 525 liters (1430 liters with the rear seats folded).
The cabin has become more spacious, the front seats are higher placed. There is a virtual instrument panel, a 10.25-inch multimedia touchscreen, a projection display. The list of options includes a camera of a circular view (360°), a remote-controlled parking autopilot, Wi-Fi, a semi-autonomous driving system.
The power system includes a petrol 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo engine of 355 hp (265 kW) and 500 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
A diesel M40d option and a high-performance M-version will be offered too. The latter will be equipped with the newest 6-cylinder 3.0-liter 450-hp bi-turbo diesel (336 kW).
