The First All-Electric Audi SUV Will Cost From 80,000 Euros
At a recent press conference, the head of Audi Rupert Stadler has called the estimated cost of the Audi e-tron – the first crossover of the brand on electric traction, the pre-series prototype of which intrigued the public at the Auto Show in Geneva 2018. The price in Germany starts from 80,000 euros.
This year the mass production of the car will begin. In the Audi range, it will be between the Audi Q5 and Q7, and the Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X will be its competitors. Before launching the series, the novelty will undergo extensive tests in different climatic and geographical conditions.
The serial version has not been presented yet, apparently, it will repeat the concept with its angular sporty appearance, LED optics and a massive front panel simulating the grille. A promised power reserve of 500 km will be provided by a battery with a capacity of 95 kWh, feeding 3 engines.
According to the Audi management, by 2020 there will be 3 electric vehicles in the brand’s lineup: a sedan and a compact crossover will join the e-tron. By 2025, 20 electric models of Audi are planned.
