Finns Have Recognized The Opel Insignia To Be The Best Vehicle For Winter
The flagship Opel Insignia SUV of the new generation received an award from the Finnish automobile magazine Tekniikan Maailma (TM) as the winner in the ‘Winter vehicle 2018’ nomination.
14 models were selected to participate in the contest, the Insignia has become the only one to get the maximum number of ‘snowflakes’ and the highest score of all – 8.8 out of 10.
TM annually in February conducts winter tests of cars in severe weather and road conditions. Within a month the candidates pass harassing tests, and then journalists choose the best.
The Opel Insignia won the competition this year, ahead of other competitors – 14 models in their most popular trim levels, which were presented during 2017.
The vehicles were tested both in the laboratory and in the White Hell – on the track of Ivalo, as well as on ordinary roads in Lapland. The Opel Insignia has been recognized as successful in all types of tests, having received the highest ratings for heating, control and braking systems, plus high scores for comfort during long trips.
Rami Kittila, Managing Director of Opel Finland,
The success of our Insignia is an excellent event, although for us it was not a big surprise. We knew that the new generation Insignia was the ideal choice, regardless of weather conditions and temperature, and in exhausting heat and in chilling cold all Opel Insignia’s systems work well.
