Elon Musk has unveiled a new Tesla’s SUV
Within the next three years a new crossover will join the Tesla line-up – the Model Y. Elon Musk has told some details about the new electric car.
The new Tesla SUV will be comparable in price to the Tesla Model 3 sedan. It’s about 35,000-40,000 dollars, which is twice cheaper than the modern Model X (pictured above).
The presentation of the new electric crossover will take place around 2020, although initially it was supposed to be launched earlier. One of the main goals in creating the electric vehicle was the desire to return profit to the manufacturer.
Elon Musk says a lot of problems are solved during production, but these problems are interesting, their solution means a lot of absolutely new ideas.
The design of the future new SUV has been developed in such a way that it can be simple in production to reduce its cost and offer an attractive price, and also for customers to like the car.
When creating the Model 3 sedan, which will become the base for the Model Y SUV, Tesla had to increase the planned production budget. It was a lesson for the company, and very expensive. Now all problems are revised.
It is planned to produce one million Tesla Model Y cars a year. Traditionally for Tesla, unusual futuristic solutions will be used for it to attract customers.
