By 2022 Jeep Will Present Nine New Products And Give Up Diesel Engines
Jeep will present 9 new and updated models in the next four years. Hybrid powertrains will be added, and the American automakerabandon diesel engines.
Mike Manley, Jeep’s boss, talked about the company’s plans for the next few years. Until 2022, a completely new A-segment SUV will be introduced, which is a step below the current Renegade. The subcompact car will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid transmission, as well as separate autonomous functions.
In addition, the company will update the Jeep Compass and bring a new-generation Renegade SUV to the market.
Manley also confirmed that diesel-powered cars would disappear from the Jeep range in Europe. They will be replaced by versions with petrol engines, hybrid and soft-hybrid systems, all-electric ones.
For the first time in its history, the famous Cherokee will get a seven-seat modification. Naturally, the same layout will be offered for the Grand Cherokee.
The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs will appear at the top of the Jeep model lineup. Finally, the success of the Cherokee Trailhawk (pictured above) and Cherokee Trackhawk models prompted Jeep to start developing another flag version – the Cherokee Deserthawk. It will be on sale in early 2020.
