The BMW X7 Flag Crossover Has Been Tested With The M Performance Sports Pack

The BMW X7 flagship SUV has again reminded of itself. The next pre-production prototype  is photographed by spies while passing the road tests. This time it is a variant with a sports M-package. What is already known about the biggest BMW’s crossover?

A future rival to the Land Rover Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GLS will be officially presented in November 2018 at the Auto Show in Los Angeles. The premiere place means that the X7 will be aimed, first of all, to the American market. However, in February 2019 the model will start to arrive to European dealers and not only.

As previously reported, the BMW X7 is a seven-seater. The standard base version is being prepared for series production at the car plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina (USA). Here, let’s remind, they produce the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5, BMW X6 and the BMW Z4 roadster.

The dimensions of the flagship are 5020x2020x1800 mm with the wheelbase of 3010 mm. Thus, the X7 is 113 mm longer, 82 mm wider and 37 mm higher than the latest-generation BMW X5. It also has a 76 mm longer wheelbase.

Test prototypes are hidden under the camouflage, but the company has already introduced the X7 iPerformance Concept, which gives an idea of the future BMW flagship’s exterior.

They do not talk about prices at BMW’s, but the crossover will have several top versions, including a luxury four-seat.

About the engines. The company has not yet called the motor range, but, according to journalists of the British magazine Autocar, for the X7 a 3-liter 6-cylinder diesel (mainly for Europe) will be offered, as well as a petrol V8. Later, a plug-in hybrid will be introduced to the market.

The M Performance version will obviously be, but there is no certainty about the full hot M-modification.

In addition to the above-mentioned European models, the BMW X7 can compete with the Americans – the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
