The BMW M5 sedan will get a special edition with a sports package

BMW is working on a special edition of the hot M5 sedan with a Competition Package. Production starts in April 2018, and the official premiere, possibly, will take place in March at the Geneva Motor Show.

Today, the fastest on the market BMW’s car is an all-new M5 (F90). Under the hood it has the newest version of the 4.4-liter V8 twin turbo engine of 600 hp and 750 Nm of torque, which is aggregated with a retuned 8-speed automatic ZF transmission.

The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km in 3.4 seconds, gaining a top speed of 305 km/h. It is equipped with a four-wheel drive system with the option of disabling the front axle and an active rear M-differential with 100-percent locking.

BMW M Division decided not to stop on the reached and offer the hotter version – M5 F90 Competition Package. With such a sports pack, the car’s capacity will increase by 15-30 hp, which means acceleration by one tenth of a second faster.

Moreover, this edition will have reconfigured suspension and gearbox, carbon-ceramic brakes and aluminum alloys.
